One missionary's shock at parents' role in selling kids to brothels

I'm tired, hot and sweaty, and covered in dust. My team and I left our home base in Sriracha, Thailand, and traveled all day to get to the poverty-stricken border town of Poi Pet, Cambodia. I want to have a cold shower and put my feet up, but instead my teammates and I hop into the back of a pick up truck and head deep into the Cambodian countryside.

Ministry leader Harley Voogd preaches straight-up in Cambodia

At the beginning of September, I preached a message explaining that water baptism is a physical picture of what happens in the spiritual. After the service some people said they wanted to be baptised. I thought, "Great!", but I was concerned that they didn't know what it was they were asking to do. But I said, "In two weeks we will have a baptism Sunday."

Leaders have a vision to bring faith to a war-torn nation

Hopelessness and fear continue to plague Cambodian hearts 30 years after a horrific civil war that brought the country to its knees. But apostolic leader Joel Reimer's ministry on the border town of Poi Pet, has a vision to turn the hearts and minds of Cambodians to a true faith in God

In the last four years Joel has baptized hundreds of new believers and seen 500 souls come to Christ. He has planted six house churches, has an English school, a music school, and he makes frequent visits to an Aids hospital where 100 souls have stepped into eternal life through the message Joel shared with them.

Cambodia is one of several Victory nations devastated by recent floods

With the “2012” end-of-the-world theory fresh in our minds these days, it seems an eerie coincidence that several nations in Asia have been recently hit by destructive storms, heavy flooding, and earthquakes.  


The movie version is, of course, fiction, and we bible believers know the world will not end with a flood because God promised it wouldn’t. Yet in the last two months alone, our ministries in Pakistan, Cambodia, and Thailand have been hit by serious floods which have left many homeless.
